Full Bio

Gerald Frazier, PMHNP-BC, brings over 19 years of experience in psychiatric nursing and mental health care, with a background spanning both inpatient and outpatient settings. Throughout his career, he has worked with individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety, trauma-related disorders, and complex psychiatric presentations.

He earned his Master of Science as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from D’Youville University, building on his earlier nursing education and clinical experience. His approach to care is rooted in comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, thoughtful medication management, and meaningful patient engagement, allowing him to develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each individual’s needs.

Gerald has also held leadership roles in inpatient psychiatric settings, where he supported care coordination, crisis intervention, and interdisciplinary collaboration. These experiences strengthened his ability to work within team-based environments and provide structured, patient-centered care across different levels of acuity.

Over time, his clinical experience has led him to expand his focus beyond symptom management alone. He has developed a strong interest in integrative and functional approaches to mental health, with particular attention to the role of nutrition, lifestyle, and metabolic health in psychiatric outcomes. He is especially interested in the connection between mental health and eating-related conditions, as well as how underlying physiological factors can influence mood and overall well-being.

Gerald values a collaborative, interdisciplinary model of care and is passionate about working alongside dietitians, therapists, and medical providers to support whole-person health. He believes that lasting change comes from addressing both the symptoms and the root causes of mental health concerns.

In addition to his clinical background, Gerald’s experience as a firefighter and Fire Captain helped shape his ability to remain calm under pressure, lead teams, and respond effectively in high-stress situations—skills that continue to inform his compassionate and steady approach to patient care.

He is committed to ongoing learning and professional growth as he continues to deepen his knowledge in integrative and functional medicine, with the goal of helping patients achieve meaningful, sustainable improvements in their mental health and overall well-being.
